Ann Jacob Chardonnay
Wonderfully bright and balanced. This Chardonnay delivers generous fruit flavours with notes of stone fruit and citrus.
Our tribute to Ann Jacob who forged a new path for others to follow.
In 1839 Ann Jacob purchased land on the banks of our very own Jacob's Creek.
With a love and dedication for this land, she cultivated both the community around her and some fo the earliest known vines in the region, helping establish the Barossa we know and love today.
Made in a modern Australian style with barrel fermentation in French oak to build complexity and interest. This wine is showing ripe stone fruit characters, fleshy weight, and spicy oak notes.
A very small make in 2020 due to the challenging year this wine is a testament to the skill and craft of the winemaking team and growers that made it happen.
Fruit has been sourced from the floor of the Barossa Valley at estate vineyards close to Lyndoch and from the cooler, higher altitude Eden Valley. The 2020 vintage was a challenge for Chardonnay in the Barossa with bushfires and very small crops requiring the winemaking team to be on top of their game.
